Grilled Texas Toast

Griling Texas Toast
|
If you want a super easy bread recipe for the grill, just toss on some Texas Toast.
Texas Toast is actually a brand name for bread in the freezer section at the grocery store. It’s in a loaf and sliced. There are other brands out there, but I’d say that I like the original Texas Toast bread the best on the grill.
Be careful when buying Texas Toast. You want the plain buttered type and not one of the versions with cheese. The cheese burns on the grill, and you have a mess instead of nice slices of grilled bread.
All you do to make Grilled Texas Toast is take the loaf out of the freezer. It can thaw a little or not – works fine either way. Then, place the bread over the fire or heat after the main part of the meal is done, since this is really quick. Use tongs or even a fork and lift the edge of the toast to check for doneness. When it’s hot and has grill marks, the grilled bread is ready. This takes only a few minutes, so watch close.
Although this is a really quick and easy way to make bread on the barbecue grill, it’s very tasty. We like to toss on some Texas Toast when we’re grilling steaks or chicken. Texas Toast is a great addition to the meal and takes very little time and effort.
